Ranchi: Union Minister Arjun Munda inaugurates five-day multimedia photo exhibition



Ranchi, Aug 28: Arjun Munda, Minister of Tribal Affairs, Government of India, on Sunday opened a five-day multimedia photo exhibition at the premises of Ranchi University to mark the celebration of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav.

Addressing the students and other guests present, Munda said, “All of India has been celebrating Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav for quite some time now. However, this exhibit showcases the sacrifices, movements, and paths that freedom fighters showed Indians.

“India has a vivid history and is now making a name for itself in the world based on its traditions. India has now shown the world that we are the biggest democracy in the world and welcome everyone with the message of ‘Vasudaiv Kutumbakam’ (The whole world is one family). Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave the idea that the world was one and affected as one when the world was talking about climate change and global warming,” Munda added.

He added that the present times demand that Indians be committed to improving the nation’s future. He said people need to reflect on the world they have made for the nation. The exhibition showcases the many leaders who have given their whole lives for the nation, which should inspire all to do more for the nation, the minister added.

Vice Chancellor Ajit Kumar Sinha, while talking about his plans for the five-day exhibition, said, “We plan to allocate and schedule time for university students to visit the gallery for 50 minutes. – one hour during class to promote the introduction to the history of the nation’s independence. We also want students to understand the sacrifices made by named and unnamed leaders who gave their lives for the freedom of India.

Further, while explaining its relationship with NEP 2020, the VC said, “According to NEP 2020, it will be compulsory for students in all majors to add another subject to their curriculum. This subject will teach them all about the history of India, its struggle for freedom and its rise after independence.

In particular, the subject “Know your India” will be compulsory for all students despite the different streams.

On the other hand, information has also been released on a digital learning experience through online mobile games which has been developed by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting in association with Zynga India.

Azadi Quest Online is an entertaining and educational mobile game series which aims to provide a platform for gamers to learn more about India’s independence journey and the valor of Indian freedom fighters through gameplay fun. During the exhibition, stalls related to Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani Siddha and Homeopathy (AYUSH) were set up by the Department of AYUSH, Ranchi.

MP Sanjay Seth, MLA CP Singh, Vice Chancellor Ajit Kumar Sinha, Padmashree Madhu Mansoor, Additional Managing Director, PIB-CBC Ranchi Akhil Kumar Mishra, several public school students along with their teachers were present at the occasion .
