Sports journalists and sponsors of the Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) digital training sponsored by MTN in Accra congratulated the two institutions for their partnership in setting up digital and multimedia training for sports journalists Across the country.
The training was part of the activities marking the 25th anniversary of MTN and the 53rd anniversary of SWAG.
The aim was to equip participants with the modern and required skills necessary to improve their work in order to remain relevant in the ever-changing trends in the practice of journalism in the digital age.
It also aimed to use digital channels to promote their profession.
The participants delighted with the knowledge and skills acquired were particularly impressed by Digi SWAG, the importance of digital and multimedia journalism, channel creation, channel security, channel optimization, mobile coverage, more mobile publishing, publishing, scheduled publishing, organic growth, increasing post activities, etc.
SWAG President Kwabena Yeboah said his leadership will not only be remembered for the rituals of the SWAG Awards, but also for building the capacity of sports journalists across Ghana.
He praised MTN for the long-standing relationship with SWAG by collaborating at many events, especially the SWAG Awards.
Mr. Nash Odoi of MTN Corporate reiterated the long-standing mutual and beneficial relationship between MTN and SWAG.
“As MTN goes digital in 2025, the company wants to grow into an exciting future with SWAG and journalists as a whole, and therefore is happy to be part of the capacity building program on how members of the SWAG can use digital tools. “
SWAG, the parent body of sports journalists in Ghana, has a long-standing relationship with MTN, the main sponsor of the SWAG Awards.
Over the years, MTN has demonstrated its commitment to investing in the development of journalists in Ghana.
This is evident in the company’s partnerships with media associations such as the Ghana Journalists Association, PRINPAG and other institutions including SWAG.
